Key Deliverables




Key deliverables for this position are as follows:



· Participate in the specification or reviewing of product requirements and system designs

· Perform detailed analysis of product requirements

· Provide high level design, detailed design and high quality code for subsystems/components

· Follow internal product development process

· Deliver appropriate design and development testing documentation

· Review software detailed design and implementation

· Estimate development effort for detailed project planning

· Provide technical support for system test and support teams

· Maintain, support and enhance existing product code base

· Review customer documentation

· Plan and track all assigned development activities





Key Skills


The successful candidate will have key skills as follows:

· Strong understanding of, and experience with, formal software development processes

· Full life cycle experience with object-oriented design/development methodologies

· Formal development environment experience (source code management, bug and problem tracking, release and load building, …)

· 3+ years of commercial large scale software development experience in C and C++

· Understanding of PSTN signaling network concept and SS7 network architecture

· Solid understanding of MTP and ISUP protocols

· Knowledge and experience with ISUP or ISDN based call processing

· Hands on development experiences with at least two of the following telephony standards and protocols (e.g. MTP, ISUP, Q931, SCTP, M3UA)

· Vendor experience: Nortel, Lucent, Ericsson, Alcatel and Siemens

· Strong communication and team leadership skills





Experience and Education


Required industry experience and qualifications are as follows:

· Degree in Computer science or Engineering

· Experience working in a fast paced environment

· Experience working on commercial software products

Beneficial industry experience and/or qualifications include:

· OOA&D tools experience (IBM Rational Rose and / or Borland Together)

· Protocol conformance testing

· Experience with SIP, VOIP, CTI and wireless technology
