Fixed Income Data Developer

The Fixed Income Data Developer will provide development and support for Fixed Income referential data database that resides on Sybase. Development responsibilities will include modifying existing data loaders, developing new data loaders, creating tools to monitor an improve referential data quality, investigating problems with data vendor mappings, and working with vendors to improve feeds and services.
Support responsibilities includes responding to users, communicating with data providers, logging, tracking and resolving problems, reporting incidents, and responding to problems communicated via e-mail, telephone calls, beeps, error logs and reports.
This position is based in our Toronto market data technology center, as part of a growing team of developers and operational support experts dedicated to supporting, expanding, and creating innovation around our clients’ market data and reference data environment. This is a great opportunity to get deep exposure to the capital markets industry, financial products and pricing, and the world of investment banking.
Some travel may be required for training.
Qualifications:
• Programming experience in a UNIX/ Linux environment
• Ability to write code that is easily adaptable and extendable by other developers
• Sybase development experience
• Perl programming experience
• Experience providing on-call support/pager rotation support is an asset.
• Knowledge of fixed income reference data vendor feeds and financial product experience is an asset
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical skills, responsive to customer’s needs and questions.
• Completion of a technology focused college diploma or post-graduate technology program
