System admin level experiences with various major UNIX OS: Sun Solaris 8 and above, Linux, HP-UX (3 to 5 years)
Strong experiences in UNIX Shell scripting – Shell, Sed/Awk, Perl etc..
Working experiences with Oracle 8i and above (3 – 5 years)
Good understanding of the database from system admin perspective
General Oracle DBA skills ( install oracle, create dB, create tablespaces, SQLnet configuration etc.)
Working experiences with PL/SQL
Good understanding of TCP/IP network
Working experiences with TCP/IP protocol and various applications/protocols (FTP, Ssh/Sftp, HTTP(s) VPN etc)
Strong Java Application/Web Server (BEA WebLogic Server, JBoss), J2EE, Java application deployment experiences.
Ability to extend or customize application
Technical documentation skills
Soft Skills
Good verbal and written English Communications skills (client facing skills)
Very Self-Motivated / comfortable in a multi-tasking environment. Must be structured planner to be able to adapt to fast paced business environment
Strong troubleshooting skills
Able to work under pressure and get work done on time
Team player
Nice to have:
· Strong experience of HA and clustering technologies on SUN Cluster, HP Service Guard, Veritas Cluster etc. – 5 years – current client Rogers On-Site support
Understanding of Sun Cluster and Veritas Cluster
· Oracle DBA or J2EE programming background – Very strong 3 yrs DBA duties and 2 years developing with Java including Multi-threaded and embedded applications (MS embedded VC++, Symbian C, J2ME
Used these technologies for fun in the pass
· Good understanding of SMS technology, experience with Kannel SMS gateway will be an asset. – Good understanding
· Good understanding of WAP-Push technology – Good understanding
