本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛"processing fee"! (This happened to a friend this month. Isn't that $225 processing fee?).
For martgage discharge, CIBC charge $90, RBC charge $85. In addition to charge more, the service at HSBC is terrible. Last year when I need to renew my mortgage at the end of Feb, after leaving many phone msgs, and faxes, you got back to me after a week. I guess it's because I bought my RRSP there a few months back, so they don't care. This year, I didn't buy RRSP and sure enough, they called me early Feb to "remind" me of the mortgage renew issue when what they really want to do is selling you RRSP product. Too bad, I don't need any of their service any more and, when the time is right, I'll transfer all my RRSP out.
Remember, when I sign my mortgage with them, the discharge fee is
$90 at the time. The contract just said it's $90 at the moment; they can change. It's a stupid mistake to change a fee and apply it to an existing customer. I paid that $225; they lost at least 15,000 of RRSP selling (which I'm sure can generate more than $225 for them a year) and, I'll withdraw all the money already there; much more loss for them.
Of course, I know HSBC is interested in the HK rich people only.更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
