about ur question: at the beginning, I am so nice(they were so nice too), I got the key. and moved in. two week later, they ask me to sign the contract. It is more than 10 pages. I asked,

my I take and read it, and come back to sign it? The reason is I don't have enough time to spend 30+minutes in their office in day time. They are only open/work in daytime of the work day.

But they said, I can't take the blank contract away from the office. So I said, OK, I have to read it and understand what is said in the contract before I sign it. So I hope I can't find a time to read it in their office, unless they can let me read it outside the office(for example, in my home or in office).

这好像是数据库里的死锁。 what ever, either part have to give up, to solve the problem.

      Or you can spend a LONG time to go through everything in their office if they don't let you keep it. This is your right! I don't know why you can live in without signing anything?

            I must read the contract in office. Like I beg them something. Actually, we are in equal position, they sell , i buy.

            I encountered similar situation when I sign job contract. the agent ask me to come and read then sign. I told them, I don't want to waste time to come back and forth, if there is any thing need to be change in the contract. So the agent fax it to me before I came to see them. Becuase it is also their business, they make money on it.

            I don't think the rent contract text is top secret. Why they insist it? I don't know.
