Title:
Product Manager – Wholesale Banking

Location:
Boston Area

Responsibilities:
Our client is a 20-year industry leader in the field of Business
Process Management (BPM).

This position will be responsible for the product definition of various
products our client takes to market for the wholesale banking industry.
Specifically, this includes obtaining market requirements from analysts
and customers, and then turning those requirements in specification
documents that product development can build from. The product manager
also works with development to achieve the optimum design and help drive
the build. The product manager works closely with other functional
groups to ensure rollout, sales and implementation are successful. For
example, he/she will work with marketing to define collateral content,
education to define training requirements and support training, sales to
identify target buyers and the product value proposition and the
technical documentation group to create product manuals.

Key Result Area:
Position requires a highly motivated, creative, and innovative
self-starter individual with strong business expertise in Wire Transfer,
Foreign Exchange, SWIFT, FedWire, CHIPS, RTGS systems or Nostro Account
Reconciliation. The expertise will have been acquired through 10+ years of
employment in that field either through employment in a bank, consulting
to banks or product management at a technology company that sells
software to the banking industry.
In addition to the business expertise, the individual should also have
a proven track record as a product manager for a technology company.
A successful track record managing complex development projects may be
substituted under the right circumstances.
Work closely with product development to ensure product quality and
on-time delivery. During the development cycle it will be necessary to
define product requirements, influence design, specify QA requirements,
create sample data and generally adhere to formal product development
process.
Work closely with Product Marketing to develop value proposition,
targeted messaging for buyers, target market, product launch plans, product
collateral, sales training and standard demonstrations.
Work closely with education to create new training courses for new
products and to revise training courses for new releases of existing
products.
Work closely with the technical documentation group to ensure high
quality product documentation including deployment manuals, users manuals
and installation procedures.
Drive content of tradeshows relevant for wholesale banking, including
messaging, demonstrations and sales presentations. Also attend the trade
shows in person.
Manage formal and informal feedback from customers, consultants and
analysts and ensure that feedback is considered in future releases of the
product.
Ensure current knowledge of market initiatives, regulation and drivers
through research and participation in industry bodies and events.
Annually, and periodically throughout the year, support the planning
process for the FS business unit to include multi-year product strategy
for wholesale banking with projected P&L

Minimum Level of Education:
Bachelors Degree.
Minimum Number of Years and Type of Experience:
Ten plus years relevant business expertise acquired in banking,
consulting in financial services or at a software company that sells to
financial services. Five years product management experience with a
technology company that sells to financial services. Clear understanding of
wire transfer, foreign exchange, Nostro Account Reconciliation, SWIFT and
RTGS systems. Demonstrated ability to work across departmental
boundaries, and act as both internal and external product evangelist.
Frequent, intermittent travel – (10- 25%)

Compensation:
Depends on experience.
