Position: Account Manager, Claims Services, Munich Reinsurance Company - Canada Branch (Life)

To proactively manage assigned claims client relationships resulting in superior client satisfaction and making a significant contribution to producing excellent financial results for MLMC.

FUNCTION:

The Claims professional will be successful when, on a timely and professional basis:

OUTCOME #1: Client Management

• Strong, mutually beneficial, long-term client relationships are established
• All clients needs/requests are responded to in a timely, accurate and helpful manner.

OUTCOME #2: Claims Practice Improvement

• Value added claims reviews of selected files and processes are performed in the most efficient and effective manner, for long-term disability claims as well as individual and group life claims.
• Excellent analytical business reports are produced with sound recommendations in accordance with a timely schedule.
• Training programs for clients are grounded in knowledge gained from reviews & conducted in a timely, professional and efficient manner to best meet the client’s needs and maximize the learning benefits for the participants.
• Thorough, accurate, timely and up-to-date client documentation is maintained.

OUTCOME #3: Project Management

• Leading edge knowledge about disability is obtained and applied to client situations and shared well throughout the Munich Reinsurance Group e.g. product development, contract wording, etc.
• Special projects, as assigned from time-to-time, [e.g. organizing seminars, developing/implementing practice surveys] are completed in a timely and professional manner.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED TALENTS/SKILL SET

• Successful completion of a Bachelors degree in Business, Arts or Science;
• Minimum of 5 years work experience with a life & health insurance company in a group and/or individual disability claims management role;
• Strong analytical skills; excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to build solid client relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills
• Adept at using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel across Canada.
