Marketrend Systems Inc. is a premier, full service automotive marketing company with over 150 employees. Marketrend has over 20 years of marketing experience in the automotive field and personal working knowledge of dealerships. Our company produces a wide variety of traditional and web-based marketing tools for automotive manufacturers and dealers in North America and the Caribbean. Our Canadian office is located in North York, in the Keele and Steeles area.
We are looking for a Web Designer for our Content and Design department. We are seeking an individual who can produce high-quality online creative work on brand, on time and on budget.
Responsibilities:
• Assesses internal, client and end-user requirements and develops or recommends creative, effective solutions.
• Produces web pages, web marketing/technical copy, multimedia scripts/storyboards, UI mockups and site architecture maps as required.
• Ensures the highest quality of web content by performing usability and functionality testing and proofing site for content errors.
• Develops unit, integration, usability and regression test scripts and participates in the testing activities.
• Documents business requirements, content guidelines, development processes and system configurations as required.
• Assesses new web technologies, tools and approaches and offers up creative solutions for improvement of work processes and/or products.
• Collaborates with marketing analysts, developers, sales, third party vendors and technical staff to ensure solutions meet end-user, client and corporate requirements within the agreed upon time line.
Qualifications:
• Post-secondary education in Arts or Sciences.
• 3+ years experience in a combination web design/development role, preferably in a corporate setting.
• A current portfolio of work (URL’s) should be included in the candidate's resume.
• Experience with at least 3 of the following: HTML, JavaScript, ASP, CGI, Perl, NT/Win 2000, UNIX and SQL.
• Understanding of the principles of web design (interface, information & interaction design).
• Exposure to web-enabling databases. Experience interfacing with databases, database design and database development are considered assets.
• Exposure to multimedia and web graphics/animation packages would be helpful (PhotoShop, Flash, Premiere, Real Audio)
• Experience in quality assurance and usability testing.
• A passion for the web and an unquenchable curiosity for new technologies.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to produce marketing copy and technical documentation with ease.
• Ability to discuss business and technical concepts to a broad audience.
• Highly focused and goal oriented. Takes initiative, is self-directed and solutions focused.
• Must possess strong communication skills; written and verbal.
• Superior organizational skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities are key.
• Project Management skills are an asset.
