Answer (1 of 14): Drug testing says more about the employer than the worker. It says the employer thinks they own you 24/7/365 even though they don’t pay you for that. Drug testing is common in just a few industries (aerospace, government contracting), and among employers led by the most reaction...

    • server admin

My husband was looking for an office IT type job and he does have a physical disability that leaves him with only 1 hand. The job said “ability to lift 15lbs”

First thing when he got in the interview they told him to leave as he wouldn’t be able to lift 15lbs. Not reading the room, my husband grabbed the pc desk and lifted it with one hand and said “that’s around 20”

After that they were finding other reasons not to hire him like, they couldn’t afford to give him a full customized set up for his one hand even if he uses a normal set up a 2 hand person would use, he just types with one hand and very fast at that.

Since, when I see “must be able to lift x” on jobs that aren’t physical labor, I know it’s 100% to discriminate.

      • Drug test is fair for an IT job. A drugged brain doesn't work for anything IT responsibility.

LONDON, April 10, 2024--Endava (NYSE: DAVA), a leading technology services company combining world-class engineering, industry expertise and a people-centric mindset, successfully closed its acquisition of GalaxE Group, Inc., a global IT and business solutions provider headquartered in New Jersey, United States, following the expiration of the applicable waiting period pertaining to the transaction under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended.
    • The vision requirements effectively exclude anyone beyond 45 years old.
