本文发表在 rolia.net 枫下论坛Hi everyone,A lot has changed in British Columbia since we last reached out on the topic of COVID-19 vaccinations just a few weeks ago. As you know, there is a movement to get everyone in B.C. vaccinated against COVID-19. Vaccine passports are required for entry into non-essential businesses and events. It is now mandatory for employees in some sectors, such as hospitals, to be vaccinated. The federal government also announced its intention to require employees in the federally regulated air, rail, and marine transportation sectors to be vaccinated against COVID-19.Recognizing the importance and evolving nature of this situation, representatives from BC company and the BC company and Marine Workers’ Union have begun to meet regularly to review the emerging information and potential impacts on our workplaces. The company and the union agree with the Provincial Health Officer that vaccination is the most effective tool to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for everyone – our colleagues, our families, our customers – and to protect broader public health. We are encouraged that it appears the majority of BC company employees, like the general population, have been vaccinated. One area that is being discussed at length is what options are available to unvaccinated employees in the event vaccinations become mandatory at BC company. We understand some employees are unable to be vaccinated on Human Rights Code-protected grounds and we are committed to working together on suitable accommodations, wherever possible. We also acknowledge some employees may not want to disclose their status or choose not to be vaccinated. We are discussing a range of options including potential alternatives to vaccinations, such as masking, distancing and testing. We are also discussing the possibility for unvaccinated employees to take leaves without pay similar to what the Province has implemented for health care workers. We owe it to each other to continue to take the necessary measures to keep each other safe. Starting today, you can access an online education program on vaccines and privacy, along with a survey to provide comments and suggestions. This material can be easily accessed through the ...website ...Together, we are committed to ongoing discussion, collaboration and communication to employees on these important issues.Until next time, please take care of yourself and each other.Mark President & CEOBC company ServicesEric Provincial PresidentBC company & Marine Workers' Union更多精彩文章及讨论,请光临枫下论坛 rolia.net
